Pointless Games

Had another small game haul yesterday, just didn’t have time to post it before the stream.

I am now the (arguably) proud owner of:• Batman
• Disney’s Adventures in the Magic Kingdom
• Snake’s Revenge
• Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi

Batman is obviously a pretty awesome game, a little tough but it’s on the NES, what do you expect. Disney’s Whogivesashit is obviously awful, but it was cheap and as a collector, I said why not. Super RotJ was surprisingly cheap, I’m guessing it’s due to the label’s condition, but there was a Super Mario World cart that looked like it had just been plucked from a landfill, and that was like $15.

SNAKE’S REVENGE is… a game. I’m an avid MGS fan, and I know it’s not canon and it’s based on the NES Metal Gear which was also awful, but it’s something I’ve always wanted in my collection, and now I have both Metal Gear and Snake’s Revenge! Now to never play either of them.

I had the opportunity to pick up Mega Man 3, but it was $30, and since I had gotten a new pin connector for the NES as well, that would’ve pushed me over my budget. Maybe next time, if it’s still there. Though in hindsight, I probably should’ve got it, since the new connector didn’t fix any of my issues with these 3 games not even booting. Oh well.

The after-tax-return game haul!

Too much money later, I’m re-welcoming an N64 and some ultra cool games to my collection, including:

• Banjo-Kazooie
• Conker’s Bad Fur Day
• Cruisin USA
• Diddy Kong Racing
• Goldeneye 007
• Jet Force Gemini
• Star Wars Episode I: Racer
• Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater
• Wave Race 64

4 of the games listed above were NOT made by Rare, it’s like they held the market on the 64. I’d have gotten DK64, but I want games that I either remember fondly, look like they might be decent, or are actually fun to play. DK64 does not fit into any of those categories, it’s awful and marked the beginning of the end for Rare. In addition, I grabbed Fester’s Quest and Rolling Thunder for the NES, they were cheap and they’re both pretty decent games.

Just added an original black Tengen Tetris NES cart to my collection, as well as Link to the Past for SNES. These better/more rare games are starting to cost some money.

Oh, and I got a Wiimote so I can actually use my Wii, and No More Heroes 2. I’ll be checking around for Brawl tomorrow, so I can play with some pretty awesome people soon~
